Harold Ivan Smith
As a grief educator, Harold Ivan Smith is a wordsmith and storyteller, whether through his speaking, teaching, writing, or counseling. Through his word pictures and stories, listeners and readers say, “I never quite thought of it that way before.” Harold Ivan Smith is a graduate of The Mid-America College of Funeral Service, Trevecca Nazarene University, Scarritt College, George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, Luther Rice Seminary (pastoral care), and Asbury Theological Seminary (spirituality). Harold Ivan is a gifted storyteller and is researching the use of “storytelling” in grief resolution. He frequently leads workshops for hospice training events and pastoral leadership conferences. Harold Ivan is the author of 18 books on grief; his newest are When a Child You Love is Grieving, and GriefKeeping: Learning How Long Grief Lasts.
